Armwrestling is a hobby that keeps me fit and healthy - both mind and body
If you want to become fit and healthy, armwestling is a great way to do this. There are two big clubs in Vancouver BC and thier are armwrestling clubs in almost every city in the world. The people at these clubs are very friendly and want to train and compete with others who have the same desire.
The strength sport of armwrestling can help improve your: physical strength, cardiovascular strength and endurance, competetiveness and mental health.
People can armwrestle competitively untill they are around 60 years old. In most competitive sports, people retire much younger and well below 45 years of age. Armwrestling keeps me young and people that guess my age, believe that I am 10 or 15 years younger that what I actualy am.
Why train? to stay fit and also for the love of the sport
People ask me - why would I armwrestle, I am not that good at it? It takes time to get conditioned and persistence is key. Aarmwrestling keeps me healthy and I keep doing it for many reasons.
I have grown to love armwrestling,, because it has brought me many good things including: competing, meeting good people, travelling around the country and world,
Every person has different goals that they want to achive, both mentally and physically. If you want to become healthier, you have come to the write place.
Clayton Faulconer will not hold back any information that will help you become a better arm wrestler. He will teach everything he has learned over the last 32 years. Many successful athletes tend to keep their winning, a secret or private, because they do not want other to become as good or better than them. I do not hold back any infomation and want to help make all people healthier and better no matter the level they are at.
When Clayton was growing up and young, it took him until he was 13 years old to beat his mother, and until he was 15 years old to beat his sister who was two years older. It took Clayton untill he was around 23 to be able to over power his father.
Clayton has not always been great at arm wrestling.
For the first couple of years, In large tournaments, Clayton would lose more matches than he won, but when he would lose, he would not get frustrated, depressed, and quit. He would look at ways to train harder, better and figure out the ways to win.
Clayton always encourages people to work on both their strengths and weaknesses. Work on your strengths and what you are good at and also work on your weaknesses and what you are not good at.
This will make you well balanced and this will enable you to modify your technique you use during one match. This is a big advantage as many people are only good at one thing. For example: one match can have several starts due to fouls and stoppages. Switching from a top-roll to a hook in one match will confuse your opponent and they will not know how to defend. Being fast and getting into the technique you want is key.
During a tournament, I like to watch how competitors in my class prefer to move. They will use the move that they are the best at. When I compete against these people, I use the technique that is opposite to the way they want to move. For example, If your competitor prefers to top-roll, I will do the opposite and hook them or If a competitor wants to hook, you pull him into thier weakness and top-roll.

Developing Well-Balanced Training
To make you a well balanced arm wrestler, every armwrestling training session should include the following:
- mock starts
- top-rolls
- hooks
- side pressure
- Hand straps
Practicing all of these components will work to your advantage throughout your arm wrestling path.
Order of training - try to armwrestle before you weight train.
When armwrestling you typically give 110% and it is difficult to control or limit this. I recommend armwrestling before strength training with weights.
Essentially, armwrestle first and strength train afterwards. Doing strength training after you armwrestle will allow you to more easily read and understand your body to control your training and stop when necessary. This order of training reduces risk of injury and excessive fatigue.
To be a great armwrestler, you need to be good at 5 things: 1 speed, 2 strength, 3 technique, 4 using hand straps 5 having a winning phycology
I can help you with all 5 of these things
